The Perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary condition is used in the FDTD analysis of microstrip structure. A detailed analysis of a rectangle microstrip patch antenna is presented, and the simulation results are given. It is shown that the characteristics of this new technique are smaller reflection, simpler model of source and faster convergence compared with Mur's absorbing boundary condition.
