The state-of-the-art of passive target tracking is presented. The passive target tracking (PTT) methods are discussed according to different measurement sources; their application range and advantages/disadvantages are given. Finally, the development trends of passive target tracking as well as the important and difficult problems to be solved are tentatively pointed out.
