This paper introduces a Rind of -100 kV/10 MW all solid state hard tube modulator and the principle of it. Principles of design of high voltage insulation, IGBT drive circuit, auxiliary power supply and the protection circuit are described. Main characteristics of this kind of modulator are compared with the main performances of vacuum tube modulator. Application of this kind of modulator in radar transmitter in the future is discussed.
