In a single channel monopulse auto-tracking system, as a core control unit, the IF tracking receiver plays an important role in tracking a target. We introduce the operation principle of the IF tracking receiver in amplitude-comparison single channel monopulse system, and we put the emphasis on the design of automatic gain control unit using SCM and angle error demodulating unit. Compared with previous design significant improvement in cost and equipment complexity are achieved.
