The signal attenuation performance of microwave band system and its components, such as waveguide and coaxial line, is an important parameter. Based on HP8902A measuring receiver, millimeter mixer and computer, this paper presents a novel attenuation automatic measurement and calibration system. This system can complete quick and precious attenuation measurement of 40 GHz. In this paper, the hardware components and software design of this system are introduced in detail. Besides, the measuring error analysis is also included.
