The even-mode characteristic impedances for each section are needed in a muhisection coupler design. In this paper, the impedances for N-section coupler with a desired coupling synthesized in terms of Chebyshev polynomials are obtained by means of the particle swarm optimization algorithm. A six-octave 35 dB coupler is optimized and simulated, verifying the method validation.
