传统微波功率模块(MPM)中行波管通常采用栅极调制方式,行波管阴极始终浮在高压上,具有较高的打火概率,打火严重时可能会损坏行波管。为解决MPM 高压打火导致行波管损坏的问题,提出了MPM栅-阴联合调制的设计思路,既大大降低了行波管高压打火概率,即使发生打火,也能通过快速切断阴极调制开关,有效地保护行波管。阐述了行波管MPM 栅-阴联合调制研制思路及关键技术,并通过实验验证了该新型调制方式的可靠性,表明其具有较大应用前景。

In traditional microwave power module(MPM), the grid modulation mode is usually adopted in the traveling wave tube(TWT), in which the high voltage sparking of cathode is easily appeared. If the sparking phenomenon is serious, the TWT may be damaged. In order to solve the problem caused by MPM high voltage sparking, the idea of MPM grid-cathode joint modulation is put forward in this paper, which greatly reduces the probability of high voltage sparking in TWT. Even if sparking phenomenon occurs, it can also quickly cut off the cathode modulation switch and effectively protect the TWT. The development and key technology of MPM grid-cathode joint modulation for TWT are described. The reliability of this new modulation technology is verified by experiments, which indicates that it has great application prospects.
