Abstract:
The modulated laser beam is divided into a transmitted light beam and a reflected beam by a beam splitter. Transmitted beam is used as the probe beam, and the reflected beam is used as the reference beam. At the same time, the power of the scattered light at the 35 degree angle of the forward scattering region and the power of the reference beam were measured. Angular scattering coefficient is calculated by the ratio of scattering power to reference power. When the laser output power fluctuates, the probe beam and the reference beam synchronously fluctuate, and the ratio of the scattered light power to the reference optical power is not affected by the fluctuation of the light source. 2 um quartz particles were used as the scattering source, the results tested on the construction of the device show that the angular scattering coefficient is linearly related to the concentration of quartz particles, and the correlation coefficient is 0. 99. Dual channel measurement method can be used for underwater visibility measurement.
